Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree of English Literature. Mitchell began her professional career as a journalist at KYW Radio and TV, Philadelphia in 1967. She joined the CBS affiliate WDVM-TV (then WTOP) in Washington DC in 1976. The following year, she was a general correspondent at NBC News in Washington. In 1981 she started reporting on the White House and became chief congressional correspondent in 1988. Mitchell was appointed Chief White House correspondent in 1992 as well as chief foreign correspondent of NBC News in 1994. Mitchell participated on the TV show Meet the Press and also was the host for the show. Mitchell also participated as a panelist in the 1988 debate among George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell was awarded the highly coveted Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and in 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) recognized Mitchell by awarding her the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her contributions to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell covered the White House first for NBC News from 1981 to 1988, during the time of Ronald Reagan's two term as president. Mitchell reported on a wide range of interesting stories such as arms control the budget tax reform, and the Iran-contra saga. She visited extensively along with President Reagan to meet alongside Mikhail Gorbachev and other world top leaders.
